"Prof. Dr. Klaus Dicke, Rector of the University of Jena, Germany, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University on September 25, 2009. The main purpose of his visit is to explore the possibility of academic cooperation between two universities. Founded in 1558, Jena University played a major role in the history of ideas in Germany. The university has student number about 21,000. The University comprises ten Faculties: Technology, Law, Economics and Business Administration, Philosophy (Arts and Letters), Social and Behavioral Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, Biology and Pharmacy, and Medicine. The guest first attended the reception and a discussion hosted by the President of Tamkang University, Dr. Flora C.I. Chang, at Ching-sheng International Conference Hall; then he visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, Maritime Museum, and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library. At night, they attended the dinner hosted by President Chang at Regalees Hotel. "
