Tamkang University, established in 1950, is a university based on Chinese culture but with a focus on western technology in order to cultivate high-level technology talents. Over the past 50 years, Tamkang University has implemented successful teaching and administration reforms based on three objectives: Globalization, Information-oriented Education, and future-oriented education. Facing of the challenge of a new century and an uncertain future, the university is making Educational quality control a top priority so as to establish a will-integrated and world-class University. Tamkang University has established sister relationships with 53 universities worldwide. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the university of Vienna and the University of Cologne, will be added to the list of sister universities. Bringing the total to 65. Thirty-five sister University representatives and 70 guests are in Taipei to attend the 50th anniversary. Today these representatives and guests will take part in the International Conference of Sister University Presidents (2020 forum Series) and discuss the topic of 'How to cope with the Changing university education.' in which they will exchange ideas and experiences. At the same time, President Chen Shui-bian and guests will be invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center and the opening of the Fine Arts Exhibition. Tamkang University's president Dr. Chang Horgnjinh remarks, 'The university's future development goal is to maintain a good image, upgrade competitiveness toward that of other world-class universities and become a major international base of academia.
