The Hon. Evan S. Dobelle, President and CEO of New England board of Higher Education, U.S.A., led a delegation to make a goodwill visit to Tamkang University (TKU) on January 13, 2006. The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) promotes greater educational opportunities and services for the residents of New England. NEBHE was founded in 1955, when six visionary New England governors - realizing that the future prosperity of New England rested on higher education - committed their states to the shared pursuit of academic excellence. Soon thereafter, NEBHE was approved by New England's six state legislatures and authorized by the U.S. Congress. The distinguished guests first attended a briefing presided over by President Flora C.I. Chang and also engaged in a discussion with TKU faculty and Deans of Colleges. At night, they attended the dinner hosted by President Chang at Chueh-Sheng International Conference Hall.
