Dr. Luc De Schepper, President of Limburg University, Belgium, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University on April 7, 2005. Limburg University was established in 1971. It now organizes undergraduate, post-graduate programs and award doctoral degrees in three faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Applied Economics and the Faculty of Sciences. In 2001, the Flemish and Dutch Ministers of Education have signed an agreement by which the transnational University of Limburg has been founded. In the framework of this institution, academic staff from the LUC and from the nearby University Maastricht will jointly undertake research activities and offer degree programs. Dr. Luc De Schepper is looking forward to gaining knowledge about TKU’s system of developing new talents and seeking the possibility of academic cooperation with Tamkang University. The distinguished guests first attended a briefing presided over by Vice President Dr. Chao-kang Feng, and also engaged in a discussion with TKU faculty and Deans of Colleges. After the discussion, they visited Chueh-sheng Memorial Library.
