Dr. Luis Alfonso Leal Monterroso, Rector of the University of San Carlos, Guatemala, and Mrs. Leal, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University on December 11, 2003. The distinguished guests first attended a briefing presided over by President Dr. Horng-jinh Chang, and also engaged in a discussion with TKU faculty and Deans of Colleges. After the discussion, Dr. and Mrs. Luis Alfonso Leal Monterroso visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library. At night, the guests attended a dinner party hosted by President Dr. Horng-jinh Chang.
