Under the invitation of the Department of Chemistry of Tamkang University, Dr. Carl Djerassi, a world renown chemist whose research finding leads to the birth of oral contraceptive, is currently delivering a series of lectures at Tamkang University Tamsui and Taipei campuses. Today at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Clemet C.P. Chang, founder of Tamkang University, will meet with Dr. Djerassi, and at 12 noon. Both Dr. Clement C.P. Chang and Dr. Horng-jinh Chang, president of Tamkang University, will jointly host a luncheon banquet in honor of Dr. Carl Djerassi and his wife Dr. Diane Middlebrook, a well-known feminist and biographer. Dr. Middlebrook, currently teaching at Stanford university, also delivered three lectures on her specialized field under the invitation of the English Department of Tamkang University. Dr. Carl Djerassi received the National Medal of Science on 1973, the National Medal of Technology in 1991 for his contributions in the insect control field, the Prietley Medal (1992), and many others. Dr. Diane Middlebrook's lectures are given at the Chung-cheng memorial Hall of the Ching-sheng Building, Tamsui campus.
