Dr. Wilfried Muller, President, and Dr. Anne Renate Schonhagen, Head, International Office, University of Bremen, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University (TKU) on August 8th, 2007. University of Bremen, a public university, was founded in 1971. The university began its reform in the 1980s. Their reform ideas - known as the 'Bremen Model' - evolved into an attractive educational concept, characterised by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented project studies which enjoy a high reputation in the academic world as well as in business and industry. The university now has 12 faculties and more than 50 departments. The student enrollment is around 22,300. The distinguished guests were introduced by National Central University, Taiwan. The chief purpose of their visit was to discuss the possibility for academic cooperation. The distinguished guests first attended the reception and a discussion hosted by President Flora C.I. Chang. After the discussion, they visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library. At noon, they attended the luncheon hosted by Dr. Flora Chang, President, at Sea View Restaurant.
