Dr. Bruno-Marie Bechard, President, Sherbrooke University, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University (TKU) on October 18, 2006. Founded in 1954, Sherbrooke University was located at the foothill of Mt. John-S.Bourque, which is 150 km south of Montreal, 240 km distant from Quebec. The university has 9 faculities comprising 46 departments and 74 graduate programs. Sherbrooke University is the university offering the most French courses among the universities in Quebec, and is also the first university offering an MBA program in French Language in Canada. The university has the student population of more than 30,000 students, 12,255 of which are full-time, and 7,986 of which are part-time. The university puts efforts on international exchange and cooperation, offering their students with overseas exchange programs in the US, South America, Europe, and Asia. The distinguished guests first attended a discussion hosted by President Dr. Flora C.I. Chang. After the discussion, the guests visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library. At noon, the guest attended the luncheon hosted by President Flora Chang at Sea View Restaurant.
