Prof. Alexander P. Golikov, Vice-President for Administration and Construction, and Prof. Vladimir N. Usatyuk, Senior academic of the Laboratory of Library Information Systems, Assistant professor of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, Far Eastern National University (FENU), Russia, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University on April 18, 2002. The distinguished guests first attended a briefing presided over by Vice President Chao-kang Feng, and also engaged in a discussion with TKU faculty and Deans of Colleges. After the discussion, they visited Maritime Museum and Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center. At noon, the guests attended the luncheon party, hosted by President Dr. Horng-jinh Chang. The two guests will stay in TKU for 10 days to get some helpful ideas, especially on the design of the system and management, for establishing a new FENU library, which is expected to become one of the best libraries in Russia. In addition to Chueh-shen Library and the Information Processing Center in TKU, the guests were also arranged to visit the library of Taiwan University, Chinese Culture University, and National Central Library.
