Prof. Marguerite J. Dennis, Vice President of Suffolk University, U.S.A., and Prof. Zachir Dorothy, made a goodwill visit to Tamkang University on January 21, 2005. Suffolk University is listed among the first tier of “Best Universities- Master’s” in the North of US by the U.S. News & World Report 2005—there are 572 universities in the master’s category nationwide; and the North includes 165 ranked institutions in the six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C. Suffolk University is an international campus, with nearly 1,000 international students from more than 100 countries enrolled on its Boston, Madrid (of Spain), and Dakar (of Senegal) campuses. Its alumni have taken their places as leaders in the spheres of business, government, education, and the law. Prof. Marguerite J. Dennis and Prof. Zachir Dorothy are seeking for the future academic cooperation partners from Taiwan universities, and Tamkang University is highly recommended by the Cultural Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston for its successful achievements on globalization. The distinguished guests first attended a briefing presided over by Vice President Dr. Chao-kang Feng, and also engaged in a discussion with TKU faculty and Deans of Colleges. After the discussion, they visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center and Chueh-sheng Memorial Library.
