Mr. Harry Byerly, Associate Vice president, Hawaii Pacific University, led a delegation to visit Tamkang University (TKU) on October 23, 2007. Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) is an independent, private, coeducational, career-oriented university founded in 1965. HPU is the largest private university in the central Pacific, most noted for its diverse student body of almost 9,000 students, representing over 100 countries. HPU offers over 50 concentrations for undergraduate degrees, and 11 graduate degree programs. Hawaii Pacific University signed the academic cooperation agreement with Tamkang University on August 31, 2006. The two universities has started exchange program from the academic year of 2007-08. Till now, TKU has sent one exchange student to HPU, and HPU has also sent two exchange students to TKU. Mr. Byerly first attended the reception and a discussion hosted by Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Wan-chin Tai. After the discussion, he visited Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center, Chueh-sheng Memorial Library and Maritime Museum. At noon, they attended the luncheon hosted by Vice President Tai at Sea View Restaurant.
